Strategic Partner Programs
TOMODACHI Coca-Cola Educational Homestay Program
This program sends high school students from areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011 to the United States. Participants stay with host families in various parts of the country to experience American culture.
TOMODACHI-GE Miyagi Perinatal Program
The GE Foundation sponsored a healthcare education program for universities in the Tohoku region, which were impacted by the disasters of March 11, 2011. This included university courses to develop the next generation of health information specialists, as well as a series of seminars targeted towards existing practitioners, care providers and local governments in order to promote regional health collaboration.
TOMODACHI Honda Cultural Exchange Program
This program sends high school students from the disaster-affected areas in Tohoku to California for a two-week cultural exchange program, including participating in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day and visiting the American Honda Motors Co., Inc.
TOMODACHI MUFG International Exchange Program
The TOMODACHI MUFG International Exchange Program is a three-year exchange program. During the summer of 2012, Japanese students participated in the program in the United States with homestays and cultural activities in Los Angeles and Carlsbad, California. The 2013 program sent 26 high school students residing in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Diego County to Japan for a two-week people-to-people exchange and learning program.
TOMODACHI-UNIQLO Fellowship
This program offers a world-class educational experience to Japan’s next generation of business and fashion leaders. Eligible Japanese students can apply for financial support to pursue graduate studies at three top-notch U.S. educational institutions: Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT); and Parsons The New School for Design.

TOMODACHI-Aloha Leadership Program
The TOMODACHI Aloha Leadership Program is an educational program that sent six high school and undergraduate students from Hawaii to the Tohoku region of Japan.
TOMODACHI Del Norte High School Delegation to Rikuzentakata
This program took six high school students from Crescent City, California who cleaned and returned a fishing boat belonging to Takata High School in Rikuzentakata, to Rikuzentakata, Iwate from February 15-23, 2014.
TOMODACHI Japan Society Junior Fellows Program
This two-way exchange program offers a small group of talented Japanese and American high school students (10 students each) a three-week immersive learning experience in Japan and the United States.
TOMODACHI Matsue-New Orleans Exchange Program
This program takes eight participants from Matsue, Shimane prefecture to its sister-city of New Orleans, Louisiana for a cultural exchange and to learn the history of jazz and the American South.
St. Louis-Ishinomaki Grassroots Exchange Program
This homestay program sends five youths and four adults to St. Louis, Missouri for eight days. During the program, the Japanese visitors participate in St. Louis’ annual Japanese festival, which is one of the oldest and biggest Japanese festivals in North America.
TOMODACHI Tsunami Relief Volunteer Project
This program provides a collaborative humanitarian volunteer experience for American and Japanese students from Ohio University and Iwate Prefectural University to help victims in the disaster-affected area of Iwate prefecture.
Dallas-Sendai Young Ambassador’s Program
This program sends 10 middle and high school students from Sendai, Miyagi to Dallas, Texas. In July 2013, participants met with city officials, experienced homestays and toured local schools.
TOMODACHI U.S.-Japan Youth Exchange Program
This program supports six American and six Japanese high school students to participate in a three-week exchange program and community service project. Students gain cultural awareness and sensitivity through social entrepreneurship and service learning in the respective countries.
H-LAB
This program provides Japanese high school students from the Tohoku region to participate in a six-day liberal arts summer program for Japanese high school students in Tokyo and a parallel four-day program in Obuse, Nagano organized by Harvard College students.
Rainbow for Japan Kids
This program brings primarily middle school students from areas affected by the March 11th disasters to Hawaii for educational activities, including forming friendships with local students. In 2013, American middle school students visited the disaster-affected areas in Tohoku.
South California-Fukushima Youth Cultural Exchange Program
This program offers eight middle and high school Japanese students to participate in a cultural exchange in Los Angeles, California.
TOMODACHI Taylor Anderson Memorial Fund (TAMF) Research Exchange Program
This exchange program selected four students and their faculty advisors from Randolph Macon College in Virginia and four students and their faculty advisors from Ishinomaki Senshu University to explore research questions of mutual concern at and on both campuses, through an in-country field work visit and exchange activities.
TOMODACHI-Callisburg 23rd Japan-America Grassroots Summit 2013 in Shimane
Thirteen students and chaperones from Callisburg, Texas visited Shimane, Japan to experience homestays, a visit to a local high school, and other cultural activities.

2014-2015 TOMODACHI Bridging Scholarship
Ten TOMODACHI Bridging Scholars were selected to study in various Japanese universities for the 2014-2015 academic year. The scholars represent a variety of majors including Japanese or international studies, mechanical engineering, anthropology and secondary education.
Building the Next Generation of Leaders for the U.S.-Japan Relationship: the Role of Educators
Japanese professionals in the field of education learn about the educational system in the United States, networks, and best practices available to support students who are preparing to study abroad.
2014 Career and Cultural Study Program in Vermont
Japanese high school and university students from Onojo City, Fukuoka travel to Vermont for a career work experience
KATARIBA.online MyproRoom supported by the TOMODACHI Initiative
The program aims to nurture next-generation leaders to take on the challenge of solving social issues while being affected by COVID-19. This is a one-month program consisting of four steps.
TOMODACHI CIE Grassroots Summit in Oita
This program sends 15 high school and college students from the “Amache Preservation Society,” a volunteer group that helps preserve the site of “Granada War Relocation Center,” in Granada, Colorado to the 25th Japan-America Grassroots Summit in Oita from July 6-13, 2015.
TOMODACHI NAJAS Grassroots Program – Colorado Springs and Fujiyoshida
This reciprocal exchange program takes eight members from each city to represent the brightest and most ambitious young ambassadors from the cities. In 2016, Japanese students from Fujiyoshida visited Colorado Springs.
TOMODACHI North Carolina Japan Foundation Exchange Program
This program sends American high school students from North Carolina to Nagoya, Sapporo, and Tokyo and served as cultural ambassadors to Japan because of their demonstrated interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
TOMODACHI Fellows of the ELS University Preparation Summer Program
Offered in Malibu, California, this three-week program provides four Japanese students with practical English skills combined with learning about the U.S. university system through in-class subject matter and during tours to area universities. Students selected to the program are provided an all-inclusive scholarship to participate in the University Preparation Program.
TOMODACHI Seattle-Fukushima Grassroots Exchange Program
This program takes Japanese students from Fukushima to Seattle Washington or American students from Seattle to Fukushima. The TOMODACHI Initiative and the National Association of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS) has developed a partnership that seeks to develop cultural exchange program for the Japanese and American youth.
TOMODACHI Summer English Language Study Program
This program provided Japanese high school students from the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami with an intensive four week English language learning program. The 2012 program took place at Sandy Spring Friends School in Sandy Springs, Maryland, located just north of Washington, D.C.
TOMODACHI Spring Homestay Program
This program provides Japanese junior high and high school students from the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami with a two week homestay opportunity in the United States during spring break. The 2013 program took place in Virginia.
TOMODACHI in San Diego 2013
Students from Kesennuma in Miyagi prefecture participated in an exciting educational and cultural exchange in San Diego, California in March 2013. In addition, the students met with marines and sailors that had participated in Operation Tomodachi in 2011 at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot for a Thank You Ceremony. This program was supported by Japan Airlines and KYOCERA Corporation.
TOMODACHI Internship Program
This new internship program, administered by Temple University Japan (TUJ), enables American students to participate in internships in Japan in a wide variety of sectors, including government, financial services, NPO/NGO, media, entertainment, fashion, journalism, IT, and consulting.
TOMODACHI University of Alaska Anchorage – Iwate University Kakehashi Program
Students and faculty members from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and Iwate University travel to the city of Rikuzentakata, Iwate prefecture to visit the disaster zone in the city, meet with civic leaders, and learn about reconstruction efforts.
Yokosuka Homestay Program
This program brings middle school children to Yokosuka Naval Base for a homestay and sports exchange program with the families of U.S. Navy service members, including some who had participated in Operation Tomodachi. Children tour the base and the aircraft carrier USS George Washington.
Knowledge Investment Programs – Japanese Student Voices Remembering 3.11
This project brought 28 students from Tokyo and the Tohoku region to the United States for a three week trip to examine ideas for restoration and reconstruction that can be applied in Japan and to motivate university students in Japan to study abroad. They traveled to New York, New Haven, Boston, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Los Angeles where they met with government officials, executives at risk management companies, and students and faculty at several U.S. universities.

TOMODACHI Suntory Music Scholarship Fund
The TOMODACHI Suntory Music Scholarship Fund provides Japanese students with the opportunities to obtain the skills and the international perspective necessary to succeed as a global musician in the 21st century. In addition, this music scholarship invests in young Japanese leaders who wish to contribute to a peaceful and prosperous society by appreciating the United States and Japan and each other’s cultures through music.
TOMODACHI Partnership with Major League Baseball
The Japanese people love baseball as much as Americans do. That’s why Major League Baseball (MLB) and TOMODACHI teamed up to provide American and Japanese children an opportunity to learn about the importance of communication and teamwork. This includes holding baseball clinics and providing baseball equipment to youth teams in the Tohoku area.

TOMODACHI Fudai Kagura Performers Program
This program took a Kagura group of student dancers and adult musicians to participate in the 24th Japan America Grassroots Summit in San Diego, CA.
TOMODACHI Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta Program
The Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta (FYS), an orchestra of students from ten Fukushima high schools and middle schools, travel to Boston, Massachusetts for a week of music workshops and exchange programs with American youth orchestras.
New Orleans-Miyagi Jazz Exchange Program
This exchange program sends middle school students from Kesennuma and Ishinomaki in Miyagi prefecture to participate in a jazz music exchange program. The Japanese students perform with student jazz musicians in New Orleans, Louisiana to build a strong connection between Japan and the U.S. through music.
Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Tour Education Engagement
This program brings 45 students from Shukoh Middle School in Miyagi prefecture for a music workshop with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
San Diego/Tijuana-Ofunato Youth Baseball Exchange
This program sent ten elementary and middle school baseball players from Ofunato, Iwate to San Diego, California for a baseball clinic and exchange from August 2-10, 2013. Additionally, the players got to attend Major League baseball games, visit local tourist attractions, and experience homestays.
TOMODACHI Very Young Composers Fukushima-New York Program
This program deepens relationships between Japanese and American children ages 10‐15 in Fukushima and New York City, all of whom compose music for a performance by musicians of the New York Philharmonic.

Global Classmates
Global Classmates is an online language and cultural exchange program organized by Kizuna Across Cultures (KAC) that connects high school students studying Japanese in the U.S. and English in Japan.
Hirono-machi Student Chorus group participation in 2014 Grassroots Summit in San Diego
This program took 15 students from Hirono Town, Fukushima to San Diego, California to participate in the 24th Japan-America Grassroots Summit, to take part in several educational workshops and local cultural exchanges, and experienced a homestay.
TOMODACHI Northwestern High School Dance Exchange Program
This program is a dance exchange between Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland and Wakaba High School located in Fukuoka, Japan. In June 2014, six American students will travel to Japan to dance with their Japanese counterparts.
TOMODACHI “The Power of Music” Program
Six members of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra visited the Special Music School in New York City and coached the students. The program ended with a reception and joint performance of the Tokyo Philharmonic members, music school students, and Fukushima students.
TOMODACHI US-Japan Baseball Exchange
From July 27 to 29, 2013 16 middle school baseball players from Punahou in Hawaii met 32 middle school boys in Ishinomaki, Miyagi and participated in baseball-related events. Additionally, community service projects were planned along with their chaperones.
Sports Camp of America
This program provides young children with an opportunity to experience an American-style summer camp. This camp is unique in that all of the camp counselors are American university students with sports and cheerleading backgrounds.
Young Americans Tohoku Tour
A group of talented young Americans conducted workshops for young people in Tohoku, consisting of singing, dancing, and pantomiming songs to open children’s hearts, help them gain confidence, and motivate them to learn different languages and cultures.
TOMODACHI x NIKE Women’s Marathon Project
This program is a unique, cross-cultural exchange for marathon runners. Twelve female collegiate athletes from the U.S. and twelve female collegiate athletes from Japan who were affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake live and train together to deepen their friendship and to inspire each other.
Japan-America Grassroots Summit
This program helped three groups of high school and middle school students from the disaster-affected cities of Minamisanriku, Kesennuma, and Ishinomaki attend the Japan-American Grassroots Summit in North Texas on Aug. 28- Sep. 3, 2012. The Japan-America Grassroots Summit is an annual large-scale meeting of Japanese and American citizens, which seeks to strengthen bilateral relations by fostering friendships between people of both countries.
Yamakiya Taiko Group
The Yamakiya Taiko Group traveled to the United States and performed in Washington, DC and Baltimore from April 9-16, 2012 as part of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival celebration.
TOMODACHI NAJAS Grassroots Exchange Program-TOMODACHI Ties Through Taiko
This program brought twelve members of an award-winning Taiko program from Nihon Fukushi Daigaku High School in Mihama, Aichi prefecture, Japan to Pittsburgh from August 8-17, 2015.

Glenn Miller Orchestra Charity Concerts
The Glenn Miller Orchestra put on two charity concerts in Kesennuma City, Miyagi on Nov. 25, 2012. During the first concert, the orchestra performed with students from Tsuya Junior High School (Kesennuma) and Seiwa Gakuen High School (Sendai). With the support of the TOMODACHI Initiative, Kesennuma’s junior jazz orchestra Swing Dolphins was the opening act for the second performance.
Fukushima Kids Attend NBA Basketball Camp
The TOMODACHI Initiative partnered with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Japanese non-profit organization Frontier Minamisoma to sponsor the participation of 20 middle school students from Fukushima prefecture at the NBA Youth Camp in Tokyo on Jun. 15-17, 2012.
NBA Basketball Clinic
Children received encouragement and coaching from NBA Global Ambassador Dikembe Mutombo, current NBA players Corey Brewer (Denver Nuggets) and Vladimir Radmanovic (Atlanta Hawks), and former NBA player Yuta Tabuse at a basketball clinic at Shiogama Daisan Junior High School in Miyagi Prefecture on Jun. 12, 2012.
Orpheus Chamber Orchestra
Members of the New York-based Orpheus Chamber Orchestra conducted a music workshop for 100 students at Shukoh Middle School in Tagajo City, Miyagi Prefecture on May 31, 2012. The Orpheus musicians performed a Rossini overture and discussed their musical careers and experiences with students and faculty.
Women’s Soccer Clinic
The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team took to the soccer field and led an event for Japanese youth in Sendai, Japan on Mar. 27, 2012. Members of the U.S. Women’s National Team emphasized how young women can accomplish their goals through dedication and hard work.

This program provides Japan-based pediatric cancer specialists with an opportunity to visit the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia and to observe and share best practices related to the care and treatment of children with cancer.
TOMODACHI Daiwa House Student Leadership Conference
This program is a unique leadership development opportunity designed to mentor and nurture future leaders in the United States and Japan. Held in the United States, the series of conferences aim to strengthen and encourage community among American and Japanese students in the region, enhance cross-cultural awareness and build the people-to-people ties that are so important to the future of the U.S.-Japan relationship.

This program provides leadership training opportunity for youth who are passionate about solving regional challenges in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima Prefectures.

This program sends high school students from across Japan to the United States for two weeks, providing an experiential learning opportunity for the next generation leaders to enhance global leadership skills and experience cultural exchanges between the United States and Japan.
TOMODACHI J&J Disaster Nursing Training Program
This program provides opportunities for Japanese nursing students and supports capacity building of nurses by focusing on the field of disaster medicine.
TOMODACHI Lawson High School Women Career Mentoring Program in Tohoku
This online program provides career support for female high school sophomores and juniors from Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima Prefectures.
TOMODACHI MetLife Women’s Leadership Program
This program is a mentoring program to promote women’s leadership and empowerment in the workplace. Mid-level professionals in Tokyo Osaka, Naha, and Fukuoka serve as mentors for university students to develop leadership goals.
TOMODACHI Microsoft iLEAP Social Innovation and Leadership Program
This program is designed to cultivate a new generation of Japanese social entrepreneurs and community leaders (ages 18-25) who are prepared to make a positive difference in Japan, the United States, and around the world.
TOMODACHI Mitsui & Co. Leadership Program
This program provides twenty outstanding young American and Japanese professionals from the business and government sectors to participate in a unique delegation exchange that broadens their perspectives in their professional fields.
TOMODACHI NGO Leadership Program supported by J.P. Morgan
This program provides Japanese NGO leaders with an opportunity to enhance their capacity to respond to future disasters in Japan and abroad by connecting them to key resources in the U.S. The first delegation attended the InterAction Forum in Washington, DC from April 29 to May 1, 2013.
TOMODACHI Summer SoftBank Leadership Program
This program provides Japanese high school students from the disaster-affected Tohoku region with an intensive three week program at the University of California, Berkeley that focuses on leadership development and community service. Students work in teams to develop community service projects and gain experience that they can use to contribute to recovery and reconstruction efforts back home in Japan.
TOMODACHI Summer SoftBank Leadership Program 2.0
This 6-month program is for high school and university students to learn about community contribution and leadership. After completing the pre-departure training, the participants learn how to develop ideas to solve social issues, plan and execute them, and create action plans to solve each issue at the University of California, Berkeley. The program concludes with the final presentation.
TOMODACHI Toshiba Science & Technology Leadership Academy
This program provides high school students and teachers in the United States and Japan with an one-week, cross-cultural Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) exchange and leadership program in Tokyo.

TOMODACHI High School Women Career Mentoring Online Program in Tohoku (2020)
This online program provides career support to high school women living in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima Prefectures by exploring the options that they have for their future.
TOMODACHI High School Women Career Mentoring Program in Fukushima (2015-2019)
This program provides career support to high school women living in Fukushima prefecture.
TOMODACHI HLAB TOHOKU 2015
This program provides Japanese high school and university students with the opportunity to participate in a liberal arts program organized by Harvard College students.

Building the TOMODACHI Generation: A Partnership to Engage U.S. and Japanese University Students in Social Problem Solving (2012-2016)
This program provides Japanese college students from top universities with an opportunity to visit Washington, DC from February to March where they will join their American peers for a robust leadership-based curriculum that enhances students’ understanding of the principles, challenges and potential of civil society.
TOMODACHI Food Innovation for Regional Sustainability in Tohoku (FIRST) Program
This program grows the leadership and cross-cultural skills within the next generation of Japanese who are committed to social innovation in the production, processing, distribution, and/or consumption of food in Japan.
Japan-America Student Conference
This conference provides students from the United States and Japanese with an opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions and to talk about the future of U.S.-Japan relations in a time when both nations face great challenges.
TOMODACHI P5 Tohoku Entrepreneur Summer Program
This program develops entrepreneurship skills among Tohoku young people who have lost family members or whose families were permanently displaced by the disaster on March 11, 2011. Past program participants were introduced to business mentors who helped them formulate a business plan, while volunteer “big brothers and big sisters” from sponsoring companies offered personal development support.
TOMODACHI Social Innovation in Seattle (SIIS) Scholars Program
This program takes place in Seattle, Washington and is a four week, intensive training course in leadership and social entrepreneurship for Japanese students and young professionals.

TOMODACHI ADA25 Lead On! Program
Fifteen young Japanese leaders with disabilities from all over Japan join the ADA25 Celebration in Washington, D.C. and participate in ADA25 events and the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Annual Conference, where they meet with prominent leaders from the United States with disabilities.
TOMODACHI Disability Leadership Program at UMass Boston
This is an intensive five-month disability leadership and advocacy training that takes place in Boston, Massachusetts. The program trains young Japanese people with disabilities to become stronger and more confident leaders of the next generation.
TOMODACHI Social Entrepreneurship Award Program to Silicon Valley
This program provides a U.S. study tour to winners of the TOMODACHI Award at the Campus Venture Grand Prix organized by THE NIKKAN KOGYO SHIMBUN,LTD. The TOMODACHI Award is being awarded to those who are excellent in creating business plans that focus on solving social challenges. The recipients of the Award travel to Silicon Valley, California to meet and pitch their ideas to influential startups and venture capitals.
TOMODACHI-SCORE Study Tour
This program takes the winners of the Science in Okinawa: Research for Enterprise (SCORE!) competition to various cities in California to experience a science and entrepreneurship-focused program.
TOMODACHI Foster Youth Leadership Program
International Foster Care Alliance (IFCA) members from the United States travel to Japan to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture, particularly the Japanese child welfare system and its history.
TOMODACHI High School Women Career Mentoring Program in Fukushima (2014)
This program offers career support to high school women living in Fukushima prefecture who are in their junior year. It provides career mentoring and support by explaining the options that they have for their future.
TOMODACHI Job Shadow Challenge Program
Out of the thirty students who participated in a national competition, ten finalists were selected for a four-day program in Guam to participate in exchange activities and a job shadow at FedEx Guam with ten local students.
TOMODACHI Clinton Global Initiative University
TOMODACHI participants attend the annual Clinton Global Initiative University conference where students from all over the world convene in the United States to “discuss global issues, develop practical skills, identify potential partners, and formulate concrete plans of action for the months ahead.”
TOMODACHI-Ryukyu Frogs Jr.
This program sends four students between the ages of 17-24 from Okinawa to Silicon Valley, California for a ten-day entrepreneurship study tour. In August 2013, participants had the chance to meet with various business officials and receive special entrepreneurship training.
TOMODACHI Fellows Program
This program provides young nonprofit leaders from Japan with a 12-18 month professional fellowship at organizations in the United States to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return to Japan to create a network of global leaders.
TOMODACHI-STEM @ Rice University Program
This program is a five-week research internship program for 10 Japanese undergraduate students majoring in science & engineering (S&E) at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
TOMODACHI-STEM Women’s Leadership and Research Program
Hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Rice University in Houston, Texas, this program is a five-week research internship for 10 Japanese female undergraduate students.
TOMODACHI Youth Visionary Contest Mirai Sendai City
This program provides Japanese and American students with an opportunity to plan and implement their ideas for the recovery of the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
TOMODACHI BEYOND Tomorrow U.S. Program
This two-week program in New Orleans, Boston, New York and Washington D.C. provides students from the Tohoku region with opportunities to learn from the U.S. experience in post-disaster reconstruction and planning, as well as to serve as student ambassadors to share their experiences with the American people.
TOMODACHI U.S.-Japan Clean Energy Local Partnership Program
This program takes Japanese community leaders to various cities in the United States to learn about smart communities, tour energy efficient buildings, and view leading-edge renewable and smart energy systems. It furthers the objectives of the Tohoku Green Communities Alliance established by President Obama and Prime Minister Noda in 2012.
TOMODACHI Tohoku Challenge
This program was a business plan competition for entrepreneurs that identified a venture business to bring innovation and employment to the Tohoku region and to accelerate the reconstruction of the area.
TOMODACHI Clean Energy Program
This program was a series of students workshops on renewable energy and methods for saving energy in Tokyo, Sapporo, Naha and Fukuoka.
TOMODACHI Alumni Development
TOMODACHI Alumni Leadership Program supported by Prudential
The TOMODACHI Alumni Leadership Program builds upon the initial TOMODACHI experience and offers the alumni community with a range of opportunities to engage and inspire one another through professional development and network building events and programs.
TOMODACHI Generation Global Leadership Academy (Alumni Program)
Seventy students who participated in TOMODACHI programs over the summer are selected to participate in a 3-day workshop in which students discuss and study the global agenda, and what the youth can do to contribute to society. This program was designed for students who have a global perspective based on their experiences in studying abroad in the United States.
TOMODACHI KaoLINK Fukushima Rebranding Program
The TOMODACHI KaoLINK Fukushima Rebranding Program aims to rebrand Fukushima through the power of scent. Through creating an original scents, participants send messages that they want to tell from Fukushima.
Drucker For Future Japanese Leaders (DFJL) Program (Alumni Program)
This program provides 10 TOMODACHI high school alumni with an opportunity to participate in a two-week Drucker-based management skills program at Claremont Colleges in California. The students use what they’ve learned to design and implement community service projects.

TOMODACHI Award at the University Venture Grand Prix 2013
The TOMODACHI Award was awarded to two winning groups who participated in the University Venture Grand Prix (UVGP) 2013 entrepreneur contest. They will have an opportunity to visit Silicon Valley, CA to present their ideas to American venture capitalists in March 2014.
TOMODACHI Students Attend Cloudforce Japan
Salesforce.com, a TOMODACHI sponsor, gave participants of TOMODACHI programs the chance to attend the Cloudforce Japan event on December 6, 2012 in Tokyo. The event featured a special dialogue on innovation and global leadership with Toyota President and CEO Akio Toyoda, former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, and Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff.
