TOMODACHI-UNIQLO Fellowship: Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)
The TOMODACHI-UNIQLO Fellowship provides financial support for Japanese graduate students in FIT’s Global Fashion Management Program, which prepares apparel industry managers for executive positions in the international fashion industry. Offered by FIT in collaboration with Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong and Institut Français dé la Mode in Paris, the program draws upon an international faculty and the facilities and industry contacts of three major institutions on three continents.
The highlight of this 18-month program is the intensive ten-day seminars held on each campus (New York, Paris, and Hong Kong) in consecutive semesters, through which students gain a comprehensive view of the interrelationships among the various segments of international fashion businesses across countries and cultures. With the program’s focus on leadership, cross-cultural understanding, and the global marketplace, students gain the skills to assemble and manage international teams of professionals within an organization, and to guide an organization through the uncharted waters of international business efficiently and profitably.
This fellowship includes an opportunity to participate in a summer internship at UNIQLO Co., Ltd. during the summer after the first academic year in the program.
