Ambassador Kennedy Invites TOMODACHI Alumni to Holiday Party at Her Residence
On December 18, 2016, U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline B. Kennedy invited TOMODACHI Alumni to a holiday party dedicated to youth and supporting the next generation of leaders within Japan.
A total of 18 alumni representing seven different TOMODACHI programs attended the holiday festivities, connected with other youth actively creating change within their communities, and came together to inspire one another as they created connections to better the world together.
Kei Imai, alumnus of the TOMODACHI Fellows ELS University Preparation Summer Program, talked about the importance of people-to-people connections. He shared how the TOMODACHI Alumni Community provides a network and space where alumni with similar awareness and knowledge of social issues can come together and share their experiences, discuss issues and challenges they face within their communities, and inspire and encourage one another to continue to strive to create a better world for all.
This was Ambassador Kennedy’s last youth-oriented holiday party since she left her position as U.S. Ambassador to Japan.
