TOMODACHI Job Shadow Challenge Program
The TOMODACHI Job Shadow Challenge Program aims to inspire and to prepare young people living in the Tohoku area to redevelop their hometown and succeed in a global economy.
In December 2013, thirty junior high school students from Iwaki City, Fukushima participated in a three-day workshop in Tokyo. Out of the thirty students who participated in a national competition, ten finalists were selected for a four-day program in Guam from March 30-April 2, 2014 to participate in exchange activities and a job shadow at FedEx Guam with ten local students.
“Job Shadow” is one of the career development programs Junior Achievement developed. Through shadowing company mentors and observing how they work professionally, students learn work-readiness skills and develop the motivation to pursue their future career.
