Parson’s Fashion Exhibit Showcases TOMODACHI UNIQLO Fellow’s Original Designs
Ryohei Kawanishi, a TOMODACHI UNIQLO fellow, had his works exhibited at the Parsons Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) Fashion Design and Society Exhibition on May 12, 2015. Ryohei’s graduate project entitled The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelor, Even, consisted of eight different “looks” inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s work of the same title.
Ryohei’s culminating work is a manifestation of his technique, creativity, and sense of humor, as well as his hard work over the past two years of study in the “Project Runway”-style MFA Program at Parsons The New School for Design. The actualization of his studies and aspirations were made possible by the TOMODACHI UNIQLO Fellowship, which has also provided summer internship opportunities with UNIQLO’s New York City headquarters as well as funding for two other students currently studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Stanford Graduate School of Business.
