TOMODACHI Alumni Regional Framework: Active Book Reading Event in Kansai Regional
On September 21, a reading group on social innovation was held online.
A total of five alumni from diverse backgrounds from all over Japan and Hawaii gathered. We all read “Ecosystem of Social Entrepreneurship to Amplify Your Own Identity” together in time and started the dialogue by sharing three points: keywords that impressed us, what we noticed, and what questions we had. In response to what each person shared and felt empathy, opinions from different perspectives, and knowledge based on experience were shared, and it was interesting to see how one’s awareness expanded into something deeper and more multifaceted. We were very happy to see that the dialogue eventually evolved into the creation of our community and led naturally to our own actions.
Participants said, “From reading in solitude, sharing with others expanded my world,” “I was surprised to see many different points of view on the same paper,” and “I think the reading group is suitable for the TOMODACHI community with its diverse experiences,” and each person gained new insights from the intense time. We would like to consider holding the event again!
