TOMODACHI Alumni Regional Framework: Washington D.C. Regional Event
On April 23rd, 2024, five TOMODACHI Alumni joined with USJC members for the first annual “Japanese Heritage Day” to watch Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Washington Nationals at National Park in Washington D.C. Attendees were gifted an exclusive Japanese Heritage Day cherry blossom jersey.
On May 21st, 2024, for the first alumni meetup of the year, five DC TOMODACHI Alumni met at Tonari Cafe, DC’s first and only Wafu Italian restaurant. Wafu, simply translated, means “Japanese Style,” a term frequently used to express distinctive Japanese characteristics and tastes. Members enjoyed getting to know one another while enjoying delicious foods like onigiri and drinks like strawberry milk.
