Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. and the TOMODACHI Initiative Partner to Launch the “TOMODACHI Daiwa House Student Leadership Conference”
From April 10-12, 2015, the TOMODACHI Daiwa House Student Leadership Conference will hold it’s first conference with 30 university students from Japan and the United States in Silicon Valley, California.
The focus of this conference is entrepreneurship and innovation for university students with academic, career and/or personal interests in U.S.-Japan relations. For this first conference, 14 Japanese exchange students studying in the United States and 16 students attending a college or university in California were selected as participants.
This first conference will feature former U.S. Ambassador to Japan John V. Roos as the keynote speaker. In addition, through leadership training workshops, students will obtain the skills to become forward-thinking active leaders, learn about U.S.-Japan career opportunities, and network with leaders in Silicon Valley.
As part of their corporate social responsibility activities, Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. (hereafter “Daiwa House”) has become a Strategic Partner of the TOMODACHI Initiative (hereafter “TOMODACHI”), a public-private partnership between the U.S.-Japan Council and the U.S. Embassy in Japan that invests in the next generation of Japanese and American leaders.
