Meet the 2014 TOMODACHI-Mitsui & Co. Leadership Program American Delegates
Ten American delegates representing Boston, Chicago/Detroit, Honolulu, Nashville, and the State of Texas met each other for the first time attending an orientation program in Los Angeles on May 16-17, 2014. The two-day meeting served as a platform for interactive engagement with speakers who updated the group on Japanese economic, social, and political issues, climaxed by an informal dinner reception hosted by Jun Niimi, Japan Consul – Los Angeles Jun Niimi.
Held at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM), the museum is designed to give perspective, promote understanding and appreciation of America’s ethnic and cultural diversity by sharing the Japanese American experience. The group will travel to Fukuoka and Tokyo the week of June 23.
Generously funded by Mitsui & Co. Ltd., the TOMODACHI-Mitsui & Co.
