TOMODACHI Presented at 2013 U.S.-Japan Council Annual Conference
The 2013 U.S.-Japan Council Annual Conference was held in Washington D.C. on October 3-5, 2013 with approximately 400 attendees. Themed “Risk, Reward and Innovation: Opportunities for the U.S. and Japan,” the conference focused on exploring the various opportunities for the U.S. and Japan in both the near and long-term future.
Against this backdrop, this 4th annual conference convened top U.S. and Japanese leaders who discussed the long-term benefits of taking risks and innovative courses of action, as well as the significance of synergy among the business, government and civil society sectors.
Central to this discussion, representatives from the TOMODACHI Initiative also attended the conference, presenting on the TOMODACHI Initiative, leading discussions on developing the next generation of TOMODACHI leaders and involving USJC members which includes government and business leaders of the United States and Japan to the TOMODACHI programs.

The Conference also featured four Keynote Speakers from the public and private sectors of the U.S. and Japan, in addition to a closing plenary session titled, “Models of Excellence – Lessons from Japanese American Stars.”
