3rd Annual Napa Valley Charity Wine Dinner
On October 1, 2013, Bank of America Merrill Lynch hosted the 3rd Annual Napa Valley Charity Wine Dinner in Tokyo.
A diverse selection of wines from Napa Valley, California were auctioned and the proceeds were donated to the TOMODACHI Initiative. Among the attendees were prominent government officials, senior private sector members, and representatives from academia and international media. The presence of Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso and Charge d’Affaires Kurt Tong from U.S. Embassy Tokyo highlighted the importance both countries place on supporting Japanese and American youth and strengthening people-to-people ties between the United States and Japan.
The proceeds from this charity event will go toward the implementation of the Global Leadership Academy, a program in which TOMODACHI alumni affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake have the opportunity to build upon their skills and their cultural exchange experience to further develop themselves as the next generation of global leaders.
