On December 2, 2025, the TOMO-KIN Career Talks convened emerging leaders and seasoned executives at Prudential Holdings of Japan, Inc., marking a dynamic collaboration between Prudential leadership and alumni of the TOMODACHI Initiative programs. The event provided emerging young professionals with meaningful insights on leadership development and career advancement while fostering cross-generational dialogue through a high-energy speed networking experience.

The event began with an overview of Prudential’s history as a long-standing American company that has expanded globally, with offices spanning Tokyo and beyond. Following the overview, a panel discussion delved deeper into each panelist’s career journey and leadership philosophy. Moderator Chie Numanami, Group Sustainability Management Function Leader, facilitated the conversation with panelists Hiroaki Yoshioka, Risk Management Function Leader; Yoshiko Kosaka, Financial Manager; and Ayumi Koizumi, Public Relations Manager, who are all from Prudential leadership.
Mineta Ambassadors Program (MAP) alumna, Ayaka Asano said, “The panel discussion was incredibly insightful. I just started my career this April, and I was not sure what to do with my career, and the panel discussion helped me so much. I was so inspired by the panelists.”

The centerpiece of the event was an interactive speed networking session that paired participants with Prudential leadership included. Structured as a reciprocal learning exchange, participants engaged in focused conversations guided by thought-provoking prompts designed to deepen reflection and foster authentic connection. The rotation format enabled attendees to interact with professionals across diverse fields—including public relations, risk management, and finance—and discover shared interests and values. This segment was intentionally designed to catalyze relationships that would extend beyond the event itself. Through rapid-rotation pairings, business leaders and USJC leadership connected with TOMODACHI alumni and emerging professionals. Each round answered questions that surrounded work-life integration, leadership approaches, career agility, and the importance of purpose-driven work.

During the event, participants also engaged in informal networking over refreshments, reconnecting familiar alumni with one another and fostering new connections amongst participants.
By cultivating a space that encouraged authentic dialogue, mutual respect, and openness, the TOMO-KIN Career Talks illustrated how intergenerational exchange can fuel forward-thinking leadership and innovation. The event served as a powerful launching point for young professionals embarking on their leadership journeys.
