The TOMODACHI MUFG Sustainable Entrepreneurship Program 2025 successfully completed its U.S. training and Final Presentation

    2

From August 17 to 26, the TOMODACHI MUFG Sustainable Entrepreneurship Program 2025 conducted its U.S. training program. The 20 high school students selected from across Japan participated in pre-training sessions held online from June and later presented their learnings at a final reporting session in Tokyo following the U.S. program.

During the U.S. training in San Francisco, participants deepened their understanding of leadership and sustainability practices in the United States, the current state of U.S. Japan relationships, and MUFG’s initiatives and entrepreneurial activities in Silicon Valley. The program offered a variety of sessions, including lectures and workshops at Stanford University, a session with a young female entrepreneur of the same age group, an SDGs game workshop, lectures on environmental issues, and sessions on LGBTQ+ topics.

Additionally, participants visited MUFG’s San Francisco branch and the “Global Innovation Team,” as well as the Consulate-General of Japan in San Francisco, gaining valuable insights for their future roles as global leaders and actively engaging in Q&A sessions.

At the final reporting session held at MUFG Headquarters in Tokyo on August 26, all 20 participants presented their learnings in groups on themes such as SDGs, entrepreneurship, and leadership and U.S.-Japan relations. The session concluded with the memorable phrase from the U.S. program, “Be global, ambitious, and fearless,” followed by the powerful message: “Become someone who can think and act on small things to make the world a better place.”

Ms. Akiko Shikimori, Managing Director, Corporate Planning Division and Chief Corporate Branding Officer of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, who attended the final reporting session, encouraged the students, saying, “I hope you continue to cultivate a global perspective while valuing leadership and communication.”

It is expected that the 20 students will continue to leverage the leadership skills they acquired through the program, contributing not only to the advancement of the SDGs but also excelling in diverse fields.
