TOMODACHI Boeing Entrepreneurship Seminar 2024: Program Launch
The TOMODACHI Boeing Entrepreneurship Seminar 2024 kicked off on September 15.
This program, now in its 14th year, aims to develop individuals who are capable of embracing challenges with diverse values and perspectives and to foster cultural understanding and close relationships between Japan and the U.S. Additionally, it offers opportunities to cultivate skills essential for success in a global context through conducting presentations with peers and listening to guest speakers in English. Participants will learn critical and creative thinking skills while actively pursuing their own ideas and passions by collaborating with other participants from across Japan on project development.
On September 15th, 21 participants selected from across Japan joined the first online session. Although the session began with them feeling anxious about meeting each other for the first time, it quickly shifted to a more relaxed atmosphere as they got to know one another. They engaged in discussions on the theme of “evolving my own personal OS, reflecting on their values and beliefs while aiming to develop their ability to remain flexible in the face of changes.
The second session, held on September 29th, started off with 1-minute business idea pitches where the program participants presented the outcomes of their team-based activities over the past two weeks. Following this, the group explored the importance of sharing “Vulnerability”, understanding personality traits, and using the Golden Triangle framework to think about projects they would be willing to dedicate themselves to for life. These discussions helped strengthen the bonds within the team.
One participant shared their thoughts, stating, “Meeting new people with such diverse backgrounds was incredibly inspiring, and I am looking forward to more activities ahead.” Another participant added, “I am excited to learn about the differences in communication and how we can apply them to our business plans.”
Over the next five months, participants look forward to deepening their learning by receiving feedback and advice from guest speakers and Boeing employees.
