TOMODACHI Boeing Entrepreneurship Seminar 2023 In-person event held in Kansai

In a gathering of intellect and creativity, the TOMODACHI Boeing Entrepreneurship Seminar 2023 took place in the ancient city of Kyoto on November 5, 2023. This momentous occasion brought together ten visionary participants hailing from Kyushu, Kansai, Chubu, and Kanto, marking a vibrant return to in-person gatherings post-pandemic.

The seminar’s inaugural segment set ablaze a fervor for exploration and originality through an immersive fieldwork experience centered around the captivating theme of analogical thinking. Participants were asked to delve deep into the fabric of cities, people, and their intrinsic uniqueness, fostering a toolbox for novel ideas to take root and flourish within their individual projects.

Transitioning seamlessly into the latter part of the seminar, a dynamic LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop catalyzed a paradigm shift in the participants’ cognitive frameworks. Encouraged to transcend their customary modes of thinking, they embarked on a journey of self-discovery through the conduit of “play.” This novel approach allowed each participant to articulate their experiences and values, fostering an environment ripe for the exchange of cherished ideals and contemplation of future trajectories.

Megu Morisaki, a participant, said, “Through this fieldwork and LEGO workshop, I realized once again that I am too conventional. I also realized that when I do the opposite, I tend to lose sight of reality and dream too much. I would like to make the most of my shortcomings and become a unique person who views reality and dreams at the same time. I want to be a unique person.”

Reflecting on the in-person event, Alissa Mizutani said, “I shared with everyone about my past major failures. I was glad to see myself again and to receive feedback from my peers as well. I want to look at my own nucleus from a bird’s eye view, and without being hasty, I’d like to keep on going toward my own goals,” he commented.

Participating students are steadily working to complete their team projects in preparation for the final debriefing in February 2024.
