TOMODACHI Summer 2014 Coca-Cola Educational Homestay Program
Sixty high school students from the three prefectures affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake (Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures) will have an opportunity to visit various cities in the United States from July 21 until August 8, 2014.
In this program, the students divide into four groups and do homestays across the United States. Over the course of the program, students take English language courses, participate in volunteer work, and take campus tours of local universities. In addition, this program provides an important opportunity for the participants to talk about the status and recovery of their communities in Japan and to meet other high school students from the disaster affected areas.
