Lady Gaga x TOMODACHI Charity Auction
Lady Gaga raised approximately 2.26 million yen (estimated at $21,500.00) for the TOMODACHI Initiative through her second charity auction in support for those affected by the 2011 earthquake in Tohoku, northeastern Japan.
Up for auction was a one of two-only-in-this-world, exclusive Hello Kitty wearing the sea shell suit (another one belongs to Lady Gaga herself).
The auction was held on Yahoo! Japan’s auction site, as did her famous first teacup auction in 2012, and will support students in the Tohoku region through the TOMODACHI Initiative.
The auction ran from Dec 17 to 23, 2013.
Donated Funds
After the completion of the auction, the funds generated will go to the TOMODACHI Stella Adler Performing Arts Fellowship, which will be executed in partnership with an implementing organization.
