New England Regional Event Report

On Saturday Sept 20th, twelve New England alumni, USJC members and friends gathered on MIT campus for a fun introduction to 着付け (kitsuke), the tradition of Kimono Dressing, led by local expert, Ara Mahar of “Kimono Seikatsu” who has studied kitsuke in the U.S. and Japan for over 10 years.

The highlight of the event was a live dressing demonstration, where participants witnessed the intricacies of putting on a kimono firsthand. This event helped foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation within our community. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this meaningful experience possible!
