    Young Sustainability Professionals Career Development Event: Co-hosted by U.S.-Japan Council and JCLP Youth Task Force

    Sustainability

    The goal of this event is to accelerate climate action by stimulating interest in sustainability careers among young professionals and providing concrete actions/tips on how to contribute to climate action.

    Through this event, we aim to raise awareness of the attractiveness of sustainability careers, discuss and deepen understanding of the gap between Japan and the US career opportunities, and help clarify the role that young talent can play in advancing climate action.

    Session 1: Hybrid Session

    • Date: Friday, January 17, 2025
    • Time: 10:00 – 10:55 (JST)
    • Language: English only
    • Event Style: Fireside Chat
    • Moderator: Mr. Yasuo Tanabe, U.S.-Japan Council
    • Speakers: Mr. Michael Kobori, Chief Sustainability Officer at Starbucks, Mrs. Melanie Nakagawa, Chief Sustainability Officer at Microsoft

    • Date: Friday, January 17, 2025
    • Time: 11:00 – 12:00 (JST)
    • Language: Japanese
    • Location: Amazon Japan Office (Will let you know the address once your participation is confirmed)
    • Event Style: Small Roundtable Discussion
    • Guest Mentor:
    • Ms. Aya Kameda, Executive Officer, Obayashi Corporation, Mr. Yoh Kawanami, Director, Hawaii Electric Power Industries

    *Limited number of seats are available for TOMODACHI alumni.
    *Up to 20,000 JPY in transportation assistance is available for those who are outside of Kanto region.
