Application Open for Entrepreneurship Program for High School, College, University and Graduate Students TOMODACHI Boeing Entrepreneurship Seminar 2024
The application is now open for the TOMODACHI Boeing Entrepreneurship Seminar 2024.
This program, now in its 14th year, aims to develop individuals who are capable of embracing challenges with diverse values and perspectives and to foster cultural and social bonds between Japan and the U.S. Additionally, it offers opportunities to cultivate skills essential for success in a global context, through conducting presentations with peers and listening to guest speakers in English.
This year, we invite students from across the country who are eager to take on new challenges, such as launching a business or embarking on innovative projects, to join our online entrepreneurship program, which will run for approximately 5 months from September 2024 to February 2025.
Participants will learn critical and creative thinking skills while actively pursuing their own ideas and passions, by collaborating with peers from across Japan on project development.
■ Program Dates: September 15, 2024 – February 16, 2025
A training program in the U.S. is planned for selected participants in mid-March
■ Audience: High school, college, university and graduate students from all over Japan
■ Learning Format: Hybrid – Primarily synchronous online sessions via zoom, but also include in-person events
■ Program Cost: The cost is fully covered by the program:
However, participants are responsible for preparing their own environment (e.g., PC) and covering individual project activity costs. Additionally, participants may be asked to be responsible for part of the travel expenses for in-person events.

■ Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to:
- Gain a supportive network that will foster your learning about multiculturalism through various values and perspectives
- Meet and build relationships with other team members who share a passion for challenging new things regardless of where they are from or their age
- Learn from experienced professional and entrepreneurs who are successful globally in various fields
- Receive feedback frequently from peers and professionals on your ideas and projects
- Have a safe learning environment where you can believe in your potential to connect with the world, challenge yourself with presentations in English alongside with your peers by committing wholeheartedly to the program
- Have a chance to be selected to participate in entrepreneurship training in the U.S. by demonstrating personal growth through projects and learning from the program
■ Eligibility:
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria. We welcome applicants of all nationalities, however, please keep in mind that the program will primarily be conducted in Japanese. (English proficiency is not required for this program. Participants are expected to be interested in gaining global perspectives and brushing up on language skills, not only starting their own business but also being able to build unique paths for life.)
- Currently enrolled in high school, technical college, vocational school, junior college, university, or graduate school
- Students with a strong desire to take a new step forward
- Students who value connections, are open to diverse values and perspectives, and seek to understand both Japanese and American cultures
- Students who are able to participate in all program schedules until February 2025 *If there are session dates that do not work for your schedule, please communicate with the program administrators in advance at the time of application
- Students who have access to a computer with basic online applications such as ZOOM and Google Drive, and can secure the internet environment (If you need assistance with setting up a proper learning environment, please contact the program administrator in advance upon acceptance into the program.)
■ How To Apply:
Please attach and submit what you are currently passionate about, what you have worked hard on in the past, and what you aspire to be or do in the future in any form – text, video, drawing or presentation – through the application form.
The program application does not require you to emphasize your experience with entrepreneurship, project initiatives, or how closely your goals align with this program. Instead, we are interested in knowing your core values as a fellow program participant who is ready to challenge themselves.

Online information sessions will be held.
In these sessions, interested students will have the opportunity to hear firsthand experiences from the past participants and ask any questions you may have.
