J.P. Morgan TOMODACHI NPO Study Tour Participants Depart Narita
On October 27th 2013, ten NPO leaders gathered at Narita Airport to begin their two-week journey to the United States. These ten participants were chosen for the TOMODACHI NPO Leadership Study Tour, which is part of the TOMODACHI NGO Leadership Program supported by J.P. Morgan. This program provides local community-based nonprofit leaders from Japan with the opportunity to go on a two-week trip to Seattle, WA and San Francisco, CA where they will get the chance to tour other nonprofit organizations in those two cities and create networks and friendships with their counterparts at those organizations.
These NPO leaders will create an Action Plan for themselves and their organization while visiting community-based organizations such as Kimochi, Splash, iLeap and NERT, also meeting with larger corporations and organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ashoka Youth Ventures, Kiva and AmeriCorps.
This Study Tour is part of a three-year program made possible with generous support by J.P. Morgan.
