Japanese University Students Visit New York for a Marathon Exchange

In March 2013, Japanese collegiate women who were affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and American collegiate women from New York met to participate in the Nagoya Women’s Marathon 2013 in a collaboration between TOMODACHI and NIKE.  The same members reunited in New York City.  The deep ties they made through sports had not faded.  As they wore matching marathon wear, they revelled at the happiness of being reunited and ran through the streets for a night run.  In sports, the different languages or cultures do not matter.
