Launch of the TOMODACH Women’s Leadership Program

  

The TOMODACHI Women’s Leadership Program held it’s first event on June 14, 2013.  

The evening started with Joy Sakurai, form the US Embassy welcoming 20 freshmen and sophomore university student mentees. The mentees learned about how to manage a mentor-mentee relationship before meeting with their mentors. The mentors are mid-level professionals working in industry in Japan. The women enjoyed listening to a panel discussion about women in the workplace with Susie Roos, wife of Ambassador John V. Roos, and Kumi Ito, of IBM, before practicing their networking skills in an evening reception.
