Lady Gaga Auction Raises 6 Million Yen to Help Young Japanese Artists
The auction of Lady Gaga's "We Pray for Japan" teacup raised over six million yen, or approximately $75,000 USD, to support the TOMODACHI Arts Fellowship Program. The TOMODACHI Initiative congratulates Lady Gaga on her continued commitment to Japan and thanks both her and the successful bidder for their support for the TOMODACHI vision. More >>
TOMODACHI at Japan Premier of Men In Black 3
TOMODACHI was at the Japan premier of the new movie Men In Black 3 on May 8 in Tokyo. Young people from the Tohoku region, volunteers who went to Tohoku, and US Navy personnel who served in Operation Tomodachi got the chance to meet actors Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin, as well as see the movie.

Five Major Japanese Companies Join as Key Partners in the TOMODACHI Initiative
Toyota Motor Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, Hitachi, Ltd., Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc., and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited announced on April 18th that they will become the newest partners in the TOMODACHI Initiative. The contributions from these firms – amounting to over $4 million – will be used to create a new "TOMODACHI Fund for Exchanges," as well as to strengthen TOMODACHI's administrative capabilities.
